The most user friendly guide
I know that there are others who are considered masters of this craft and who are more well known, but this book is right up there with them. It does not overwhelm you with too much, but instead gives you succinct, practical knowledge that you can actually use with great success. I would not hesitate to recommend this to other who are just beginning or those already on the road. I have many other books o. The subject, but this is, by far, my favorite. Treat yourself and get one
A must for eco dyers!!!
Susan Brooks new book, Eco-Dyed Art Journals: Using Nature's Imprints, is excellent. It is well written, clear and logically organized. This book could be the new leader in the arena of eco dyeing fabric & paper. The graphics are excellent as well. I highly recommend this book. It must be a part of your library.
Great book!
I like this book so much! I am a newby at eco dyeing and have experimented on my own, but the book explains in easy to understand way and pretty pictures! I have a batch boiling now. It's the time of year to start gathering my dye harvests to carry me through the winter! Thank you! This book is getting used!
Great instructional book!
Susan Brooks did a wonderful job with this book. My husband bought this book for me and I am impressed with everything within each page. I have other eco printing books by other authors, but Susan seems to make it so easy to understand and it's just like she's standing beside you walking you through the different processes and she explains everything very well. This book is for anyone, beginners or for those who have experience. I'm glad that I have thisbook to add to my library. She is very generous in sharing her experience in eco printing. Also, she has listed resources which is a nice perk in this book too.
Fabulous Eco Printing resource
Ms. Brooks is a long time artist, who has been eco-printing for a number of years on both fabric and paper. SHe has written a very clear guide, with valuable information on materials, mordants, safety, and ways to use your resulting papers and fabrics. Bravo!!
Comprehensive
I love this book. It is full of practical information with concise instructions and full color vivid photography. It is appropriate for beginners toe co dyeing or those with some experience as well. I do wish it were bigger.
Not original material
This book was taken entirely (practically verbatim) from material that was posted by members of a private fb group. Additionally the book itself was inferior quality, flimsy paper, poor photography, seems like a cheap magazine that’s rehashing info they found online instead of a quality book. Just overall a very disappointing book. Save your money
Basics of Eco-Dyeing
I liked this book as a practical guide to eco-dyeing with leaves and flowers. Good photos and descriptions of basic techniques as well as suggestions to extend beyond the basics.
Using Items From Nature
I bought this for my sister who makes her own beautiful paper using cotton and plants. It seemed like this book could turn her creations up a notch using more plants for embellishing. She was excited to try some of the ideas presented.
Vague instructions and confusing text
Bought this product so I could start creating natural prints. Started to read and found text confusing and very hard to follow. Not worth the purchase.
